Description

A narrative short and interactive story by Simon Says: Play! It is in the vast plains that surround the Dark Lake and the pine forests of the Great Eastern Combes that you find the most beautiful stories about the eternal renewal of life, for those who want to believe them. They speak of strange insects, very small but fabulous, fragile, threatened, but insects whose desire is to live their lives is such a way that it can affect the other more isolated beings."

History

Squib For Dragonflies - in French: Notules pour Libellules - is a short novel/fable written in 2009 and still unpublished. It follows the life of 2 insects who have a very uncommon fate. The 2 heros of this book - and game, Pearl and Marlon, gave birth to the current logo of Simon Says Play! - the developer. This prototype was not created originally to be released in public. However, for The Icehouse collective 2nd birthday, we decided that it would be a beautiful present for our followers. We have updated a few things, optimized the animations and added music by our Friend Sam Oz, and this is the result. Squib For Dragonflies was created with Visionaire Studio 3.x, and updated with VS 4.2.5. It was more of an experiment in order to test this engine, and see if it was reliable to work on ASA Remastered Edition and Catyph later. VS is specifically designed to create 3rd person adventure games. Learn more on www.visionaire-studio.net/

About Simon Mesnard Infographiste 3D, aka Simon Says: Watch! Play!

      Boilerplate
I develop indie games, animation films, books (and maybe more) in France. My projects are self-funded and I usually create them on my own, at home. I have founded the Icehouse collective that tries to support indie artists and developers who lack of visibility. My main game projects are adventure games, where I like to bring a cinematographic aspect through the scenario, the cameras and environments, and the addition of animated CG cutscenes. These games are based on short novels or books that I have written and that I try to bring to life. I would like to cooperate with other artists and developers who see the indie scene like me. I am opened to all ideas and collaborations related to my own projects (The Black Cube series, Mon Village est Magique, ...), or external projects that stimulate me.
